Improved Tdd Resource Allocation through Link Gain Estimation

چکیده

Time division duplex systems, in a convenient way, facilitates the implementation of asymmetrical links required to efficiently handle the increasingly asymmetric traffic offered by current and future wireless applications. If boundaries between uplink and downlink time-slots are not synchronized among cells, e.g. when different asymmetries are required in different cells, inter-base station (IB) interference and inter-mobile (IM) interference arise. To keep the outage probability at a reasonable level this interference need to be avoided. In a system with centralized resource allocation, information about IM link gains can be used to estimate IM interference. Measuring all IM link gains is often considered to be an intractable task. Thus, in this paper a simple method to estimate IM link gains and to avoid IM interference is proposed and evaluated. The method is shown to improve system capacity when applied in a centralized system. The method also preserves fairness properties of the resource allocation algorithm to which it is applied.

Dynamic resource allocation for CDMA-TDD indoor wireless systems

Future wireless communication systems are expected to provide a broad range of multimedia services that have a significant traffic asymmetry between uplink and downlink. The code division multiple access time division duplex (CDMA-TDD) system is a promising solution to cope with the problem of traffic asymmetry. However, the TDD system is subject to inter-cell interference compared to frequency...

Radio Resource Allocation Schemes for Uplink and Downlink in Multimedia CDMA Systems

This paper presents the radio resource allocation schemes for uplink and downlink that are applicable to wireless multimedia CDMA system. Services such as the Internet often set different capacity requirements for the uplink and downlink. We compared applications of FDD, TDD, CDD schemes in this situation, and then studied TDD scheme as the candidate that is most flexible in resource allocation...

Resource Allocation in Dynamic TDD Heterogeneous Networks under Mixed Traffic

Recently, Dynamic Time Division Duplex (TDD) has been proposed to handle the asymmetry of traffic demand between DownLink (DL) and UpLink (UL) in Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets). However, for mixed traffic consisting of best effort traffic and soft Quality of Service (QoS) traffic, the resource allocation problem has not been adequately studied in Dynamic TDD HetNets. In this paper, we focus o...

Distributed timeslot allocation with crossed slots in CDMA-TDD systems

Code division multiple access system with time division duplex (CDMA-TDD) is a promising solution to cope with traffic asymmetry of downlink and uplink in multimedia services. When a rate of asymmetry is different in each cell, CDMA-TDD system may employ crossed slots, where a timeslot is used for different links in cells. However, it may suffer from base station (BS)-to-BS and mobile station (...
